Reuben Bradley Trio
Darkroom 8pm Thursday August 1st - Free
Drummer Reuben Bradley brings together a stellar trio of Australasian bad-asses, Roger Manins (Saxophone) & Brett Hirst (Double Bass). Together for the first time as a trio, these cats will be performing original New Zealand Jazz music from Reuben's albums 'Resonator' (Jazz Album of the Year 2010/2011), from his latest lease 'Mantis: The music of Drew Menzies', as well as a selection of fresh new tunes, hot off the pencil. All profits from sales of Mantis CD's go straight to the Drew Menzies memorial scholarship for NZ bass players.
"A remarkable recording on all levels, MANTIS should be high on the list of everybody’s “must hear" recordings of New Zealand music." Mike Nock. Jan 2013
"This is a wonderful disc. Melodic, intensely engaging and a contender for jazz album of the year. 5 STARS." Colin Morris, The Dominion Post, 22 May 2013
"One if the finest jazz sets I’ve heard in a long while. Its a stunning record." Simon Sweetman June 8 2013
